Caregivers Information
Who Are Caregivers?
A recent Florida Department of Elder Affairs survey of caregivers found that
about half of caregivers provide care for a spouse while the other half are
children or other relatives caring for a parent or loved one. As our
nation's population ages, more and more Americans face the challenges of
providing care to loved ones who need help because of chronic illness or
disability.

Where Can Caregivers Go for Help?
While it is true that accepting the responsibility of caregiving requires
perseverance, it is important for caregivers to find support in meeting the
everyday challenges and stress of caregiving. Associating with other
caregivers can help prevent isolation and encourage good mental and physical
health.
